Vibrant moderately saturated ruby. Blueberry, raspberry, white pepper and aromatic wood on the knockout nose. Very smooth in the mouth, with refined flavors of small red berries and peppery spices. The highly polished tannins provide more than adequate spine for the ripe fruit nuances that linger impressively on the aftertaste. A lovely wine that does not rely on the oak to showcase its quality, and is completely devoid of and green edges. Offers building complexity and the potential to age. Nicely done.

Lots of fruit on the nose with damson, charcoal and some fresh mushrooms. Quite fleshy if you compare this with the taught and bonier 2017. This is juicy and also structured on the palate with excellent, tight tannins that forge a creamy, tightly wound texture. Excellent drinkability here. Delicious now, but will hold, too.

This is a very elegant rendition of tempranillo compared to the 2014. Slightly creamy and minty with red-fruit expressions, which evolve to some black pepper and mushroom undertones. Medium-bodied with fresh, crunchy tannins. Juicy and very well-defined with lots of detail. Impressive and stylish!

Fresh raspberries, strawberries, pine needles and vanilla oak on the nose. Juicy, medium-bodied palate with fine, silky tannins. Some oak, but it doesn’t hinder the brambly red-fruit expression. Quite long. An excellent Chinese pinot noir. Love the fruit purity here. Best to give it a year or two to allow the oak to settle. Try in 2024.

Flinty lemon, sauerkraut, tart berry fruit, green apples and just a hint of petrol. Pure and punchy with lots of substance here. Bright acidity cuts it through before a pithy finish. Bone-dry and very pure. A little more powerful than the floral and nimble 2018, but also less demanding. A benchmark riesling from China that shows excellent varietal typicity. Try it. Drink now.
